What is StoneX Group (SNEX), and what does it report?
Short answer · as of
StoneX is not mainly a conventional investment bank.
Research dated 2026-09-13.
StoneX is not mainly a conventional investment bank. It combines commercial hedging and clearing, institutional securities dealing, retail trading and precious-metals sales, wealth services, and foreign exchange payments for customers ranging from corporations and banks to charities and government bodies.
Reported revenue is overwhelmingly concentrated in precious-metals trading, while gross and net margins are narrow. Gross profit, operating profit and net income therefore say more about the economics retained by StoneX than headline revenue viewed alone.
What do the latest results show for StoneX Group (SNEX)?
Short answer · as of
The most recent reported quarter, Q3 FY2026, carried revenue of $40.19B.
Research dated 2026-09-13.
The latest reported period interrupted the preceding sequential advance: revenue, gross profit, operating result and net result all retreated from the immediately prior period. Each remained above the comparable earlier period, and the published earnings comparison still cleared revenue and per-share profit estimates.
StoneX earns through commissions, clearing fees, spreads, dealing activity, financing and payment services alongside physical commodity sales. Because the precious-metals operation generates immense turnover at narrow margins, changes in retained economics can matter far more than changes in raw revenue.

What are the financial strengths and risks for StoneX Group (SNEX)?
Short answer
Cash and short-term investments were $2.19B at the Jun 30, 2026 balance-sheet date. Operating cash flow was −$1.34B for the quarter ended Jun 30, 2026, meaning operations used cash. These figures do not establish a cash runway.
Research dated 2026-09-13.
Cash and short-term investments have risen materially across the reported history and stand at the high end of that series. Even so, debt and total liabilities dwarf that liquidity pool, leverage is elevated relative to equity, and the current and quick ratios indicate limited balance-sheet coverage.
Operating cash flow has swung between substantial inflows and outflows even while capital expenditure remained comparatively modest. That disconnect means positive accounting earnings do not assure positive cash generation in any reporting period; combined with narrow margins and a liability-heavy balance sheet, it is the financial risk that deserves the closest scrutiny.
How much cash does the business generate or use?
Quarterly operating cash flow shows cash generated or used by operations.
- Latest quarter · operating cash flow

| Sep 30, 2025 | $3.53B | −$20.50M |
Operating cash-flow bars share one scale and show magnitude; negative values mean cash used.
USD. Negative operating cash flow means cash used. Capital expenditure keeps the provider’s reported sign; it is not added here to estimate free cash flow or runway.
What should you watch next at StoneX Group (SNEX)?
Short answer · as of
The next earnings report is expected on Nov 23, 2026.
Research dated 2026-09-13.
At the scheduled earnings release, watch whether gross profit, operating profit and net income resume their advance after the latest sequential retreat, and whether reported earnings continue to clear expectations. Headline revenue should be read alongside the precious-metals mix rather than treated as a standalone measure of operating progress.
Cash conversion needs its own test. A return to positive operating cash flow, continued liquidity accumulation and a stable relationship between cash, debt and total liabilities would be more informative than profit growth without corresponding cash generation.
How does StoneX Group compare with its peers?
Short answer
StoneX Group's score ranks tied for 3rd of 6 in the bounded comparison shown, against 5 same-model peers. These are company scores, not expected investment returns. The set lists named competitors first, then companies in the same data-provider industry classification closest in market value; that classification is the provider's, not our judgment of business similarity.
Research dated 2026-09-13.
StoneX combines roles that peers often separate: commodities intermediary, clearing broker, securities dealer, retail trading platform, precious-metals merchant and cross-border payments provider. Its commercial offering also extends beyond trade execution into hedging advice, commodity finance and logistics.
That mix makes comparisons based on revenue multiples especially awkward. Physical precious-metals sales produce enormous reported turnover, while commissions, clearing fees and retained trading economics are much smaller; profitability and balance-sheet demands therefore provide a cleaner comparison than sales scale alone.

SNEX Financial Services Stock FAQ
Research dated 2026-09-13; the answers below are from that research, and the full attribution is under Sources. The last 2 questions are answered from this page's own dated data, not from the research.
Why is StoneX revenue so large relative to profit?
Precious-metals trading dominates reported revenue, while the company retains narrow gross and net margins. Headline turnover therefore overstates the scale of economics that ultimately reach shareholders.
How do coininvest.com and silver-to-go.com fit into StoneX?
The sites are StoneX retail channels for physical gold and other precious metals in varied forms and denominations. They sit beside the company’s retail trading platforms, wealth services and broader institutional and commercial operations.
What does StoneX Global Payments sell?
Global Payments provides foreign exchange, treasury and payment services to banks, commercial enterprises, charities, nongovernmental organizations and government bodies. This activity gives StoneX a customer and service base distinct from its brokerage, securities and physical-commodity businesses.
How should StoneX clustered insider transactions be read?
Recent disclosed activity leaned heavily toward sales, but the record also includes awards, gifts, in-kind transactions and exempt transactions. The pattern describes what insiders transacted; it does not establish their motives.

Known dates and sources are recorded on their own rows; an em dash or UNRECORDED tier preserves a stored observation without inventing either. The quarterly income statement is provider-standardized (FMP) under one row, and scale definitions — a 0-100 rating, the band ladder, the Piotroski 0–9 range — are fixed rather than measured.
